My guest is Cindy Tugwell, Executive Director of Heritage Winnipeg. We'll be talking about a couple of hot button heritage buildings, namely the St. Charles Hotel and the James Avenue High Pressure Pumping Station. We'll also talk about Doors Open Winnipeg which will take place May 31 and June 1, 2014, plus HW's upcoming fundraiser luncheon on April 30.

Events coming up in Manitoba history that I'll be talking about include: the history of O Canada; Duncan Currie Patterson, Winnipeg's first World War I fatality; the death of Dauphin's Billy Barker V.C., the most decorated member of Canada's military. Also, CJOB hits the airwaves; the Radford Wright fire on Main Street kills seven people and Michael Henderson is killed in a shootout with police on Garry Street.
